About MV Murals and Gifts
MV Murals and Gifts was established in 2001 by Margaret Voegele Ohm.  Margaret's first mural in 2001 was for a neighbor and from there, her business grew through word of mouth.

After painting murals for various families and businesses throughout Nebraska and Iowa, the demand grew for Margaret's hand-painted gifts.  Now Margaret offers not only her mural service, but a full gift shop full of one of a kind, intricately hand-painted ornaments, piggy banks and more!

About the Artist
Margaret Voegele Ohm was born and raised in the small town of Falls City, Nebraska.  She attended Sacred Heart Memorial High School.  Throughout her years growing up on the farm and attending school, she always had a love and interest in art.

When she graduated high school, she moved to Leavenworth, Kansas and enrolled at Saint Mary College (currently Saint Mary University) where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Painting and a Minor in Education.

Margaret's first job was as a traveling elementary art teacher for Omaha Public Schools.  She was responsible for the art programs at as many as seven schools in any given school year.  She enjoyed planning and instructing original art lessons for all grade levels and capabilities.  After almost 9 years, she had her first baby, and decided to stay home to raise her children.

Margaret continued to be involved in art and education, however.  She continued to substitue teach and teach private and group art lessons from her home.  Once her children were in school, Margaret went back to work for Omaha Public Schools, once again as an elementary art teacher.  She worked as the art teacher for as many as four elementary schools each school year and enjoyed sharing her love of art and creativity with each of her students.

Margaret continued to teach both full-time, as a substitute, and giving private lessons,  until 2001, when she decided to pursue her lifelong dream of painting murals.  By chance, a nieghborhood friend, knowing of Margaret's exceptional talent, asked her to paint a mural in her child's room.  From there, Margaret knew this was what she wanted to do.  Through word of mouth and referrals, Margaret's Murals has developed into what it is today, MV Murals and Gifts.

Life Today
Margaret leads a busy life working as a muralist and artist.  She provides murals to homes and businesses in the Eastern part of Nebraska as well as western Iowa.  She provides hand-painted gifts, as well, which are available to be ordered and shipped all over the United States.

Margaret continues to substitute teach and offers private art lessons.  She not only finds joy in painting, but sharing it with others.  Teaching young people an appreciation for art, and how to use art to express their emotions and creativity is something Margaret does best.

In her free time, Margaret spends time with her three daughters, two sons-in-laws, and four beautiful grandchildren.  She feels blessed with family and friends and enjoys taking part in family, church and community activities. She also likes gardening, movies and reading.
